Those are great, the moon is so hard to strike a light balance and get in focus. What size lens were you using?

Kassundra, I'm using a 55-200mm lens. Seems to be working fairly well

This is my first really good camera, DH bought it for me a year ago Christmas, it's a Nikon D5000 and I absolutely couldn't be happier!

Wow, I'm impressed, that first shot is great especially for a 200mm lens.

I don't think anyone told it what it is and what it's limitations are, and I'm not about to spill the beans!

dkvart1, Fabulous pics of the moon. I have tried the last couple of nights to get some decent pics of it but just haven't gotten the knack of it. I really need to get a better lens. Mine seems to be great at taking macros but not so great at telephoto. Very surprising that you got those shots with a 200.

I like the optical illusion on this one. The circles are actually concave not convex.

peewee, you do some of the best macro shots I've seen! Love the cat's eye, the frog (of course) and the fish, but they are all wonderful!

What lens are you using for the moon shots? And what settings are you using? I set mine to aperature priority w/f 5.6 for my moon shots, seems to be working ok. When I can afford I'll get a better lens, which I'm sure would help alot, but for now I'm just glad to have figured out how to get a pic that isn't just a glowing white orb!!
