I understand where you were going w/ the editing of the watermarks embedded in the photo, and think it is a cool concept, but don't love it for this pic. I find it very distracting and not adding to or enhancing the pic at all.

These are just my opinions, I don't have any credentials to judge photography.

That is what is sooooooooooooooooooooo awesome about digital, costs just as much to click once as 100 times.

I have never had the opportunity to take a photography class (which I would love), but if you feel you aren't getting the type of shots you want and can't take a class, really look at your pics and try to identify what about them you think is the most average, say boring composition for instance. Then give yourself an assignment, to out and shoot some pics w/ a goal like nothing can be centered, or everything has to be shot from low to the ground, or overhead, or something like that.

I agree with your advice. I'm still learning, but in some ways photography is an art form. You can be taught the technical aspects, the mechanics of taking a photo. But a great photo is really something that just happens. That one shot out of an entire role that is THE one. Sometimes it isn't even what you thought would be a great picture.

Has anyone else watched "National Geographic's The Photographers"? I'm not sure if it is still streaming on NetFlix, but it is an awesome documentary. That is what I strive for, a picture that you can feel, that makes the viewer feel like they are THERE.

I love trying to catch the perfect action shot as well. Here is one of my faves of my boy Rayden

The dog action shots are good, but I love the father / daughter first fish shot. (at least that is what I'm assuming.)

I got my external HD working and that's where all my "good" pics were stored.

I have some shots like that at a local petting type zoo, the Gparents were there w/ their gson and they forgot their camera so I took pics and emailed to them. The boy was extremely photogenic and the pics turned out really good.

My husband got me a slave drive that I store all my pics on, and I have almost 3000 on FB. The ones on my slave drive are all the pics I haven't deleted, and are full file size. The ones on FB are tiny file sized and a small fraction of my total collection.
