Who here owns 5 or more acres?

I know quite a few people who have gone the trailer route. You just have to be careful about some of the restrictions. Lots of places don't even want them on a temporary basis.

That is very true. Where I am, that is one of only two real restrictions: no pigs, no mobile homes. That is a subdivision covenant so watch those carefully. Also, never assume because a place allows horses that it allows chickens. Many horse properties disallow poultry. Saw one just today while searching the Cleveland, TN MLS site. Five acres, barns, fenced and cross fenced, one horse or cow per acre, but (get this) "No chickens, swine or pigs allowed". What the heck do they think "swine" is??? Hahaha!

That is way too funny! But odd about the mobile home restrictions. I had heard zoning horror stories, but not about mobile home issues. Definitely something to check into.
