Who is digging a hole next to my coop?

Yes, especially the coons. They are quite clever little beasties.

... I also forgot to mention foxes, another possibility.

Coons are the most likely, though, and they don't give up once they know there's a meal to be had.

Set a rat trap in the excavation area. Even if you don't catch the critter, you will scare it off.

Can't say enough how useful a "Deer Cam" is. Place it near the dig spot and I guarantee you will know exactly what is digging and then you will know exactly what you are dealing with.

I woke up to little possum prints in the sprinkled flour this morning..... OMG!

I am so thankful to GOD that they did not get my girls the night before.

You can see that their tunnel made it all the way through.... just a little pin hole ... but the dog must have startled them. OMG

I could have lost everyone of my girls to those nasty critters....

62 degrees means wearing shorts and playing Frisbee up here. lol

I'm glad you found the culprit, Possums aren't too difficult to trap. Just place a trap in the hole it was digging and you should get it rather quickly.

I would then fill the hole back up with rocks and dirt. Good luck.

Use something like cantelope or some other fruit to trap a 'possum. They'll eat plenty of other things too, but using fruit helps you avoid catching cats.

The dog doodie is to keep them away.
