Who is Hatching for Father's day? 2018

I have an egg that hatched. It would be too early for Father's day, but I thought I would post it any how. BCM/LO/blue cochin bantam.

What birds do you have hatched, hatching?

Our Buff Orpington went broody a few days ago! We just put 3 eggs under her, 1 red cochin, 1 partridge cochin, 1 BO (if I judged the eggs correctly lol) They should be here around July 4th

Right now I have 5 broody hens in a flock of 17 +Rooster. I separated off 2 of the hens into a spare coop on May 29th and they are each dedicated to their own nesting box, with 10-12 eggs under each. If any hatch they will be a few days late for Father's Day, but will be a nice bonus addition to the flock.

This is the first hatch for one of the hens, while the other hatched 2 roosters last year, making this a bit of an Oedipus situation.



I'm still trying to break the other 3 broody hens...

I have 3 Silkies sitting on around 30 eggs all together. They should hatch Monday or Tuesday. Monday will be 21 days.

Here’s one of my babies that hatched Monday, hen hatched 6 perfect little peepers. My first hatch ever, got the eggs from a coworker so mine are jus barnyard mixes. Looks like 4 barred rocks and 2 something elses lol

Barnyard mixes are some of the prettiest biddies around ... and they tend to be a lot healthier than some of the purebreds ... enjoy them!
