yes, it was started over a yr ago but it NEVER goes out of style.. Wish lists for chicken owners is an on-going project!


I have many of the breeds on my list, already BUT in the spring I will be moving to our forever farm and building a larger coop.. So, I am planning on adding SLW--for eye candy and bantam Cochins--because I love their body shape/size and Blue Copper Marans and some more Black Copper Marans.. I have a friend who just ordered a Silver Sussex pair and will be getting her Swedish Flower Hens and roo in Feb... So, I might have to add those.. I want to see what they look like and what they lay first... Both are VERY rare and are VERY expensive..LOL

I think we are going to even out our flock,
to get everyone even, we need to get:
3 Delawares,
4 Bo's

That will give us 5 ladies of each variety.

but thats only 7 chicks.. our minimum order is 8 from MPC...
debating on getting an "oddball" not 100% sure yet, I am thinking about a Barnevelder for the dark chocolate eggs,
but I am scared we will want 4 more next spring ... It's a viscous cycle.

I know that this hasn't been replied to since November, but oh well. Thought I'd share...



We are gathering materials for a new 12 x 10 coop, with a 14 x 20 run. This should hold our current layers (assorted breeds) and the currently 6 1/2 week old Delawares. Then I plan to hatch Wheaten Marans, BR's, Blue/Splash and Lav project Ameraucanas, and assorted Silkies. When they first move in it will just be a large coop, but I hope to divide it and the runs into pens for breeds later on.

I have a large brooder (6 x 7?) ready, and another one that are shelves made into two sections. They've been empty for a week now, and I miss having chicks in there.


Then the coop I have now, 5 x 3 with a 14 x 6 run should be a grow-out coop. That is unless I get Blue/Lav Orps from bargain. Not sure of that yet.



These will all be breeder quality. No more hatchery for me. At all.

Ok new list now... I want MORE Ameraucanas and some Dark Cornish!!!

I want some more Wellies, I love mine!! I'd love some Marans too. I took the plunge and ordered an incubator... Look for me on the egg buying page soon!
