O.K. last night I heard an internal peep but just a few minutes ago another one of the eggs has a pip. I am so happy because I was starting to get worried since mine always hatched on day 20. I can't wait. Happy hatching everyone and good luck.

Thanks so much for asking and yes Sadie does have a new thread with some awesome results. It's under emergencys and its titled "Sadie: wing is off." Check it out!!!!
I got a day-early surprise of a Mille Fleur chick, and the other egg is pipped. These are both under my blue silkie Becky, who, at the tender age of 8 months, went broody for the 2nd time and I decided to take pity on her.
Wow!! Only 8 months old and broody twice already?? I have 6 silkie young'uns that I still don't know the sex of!! They are at least 6 months old, haven't had an egg or crow yet!! One is a straight comb, I was thinking it was a roo...till just now...its comb is not that big! I think you've got a keeper there Mrs. AK!!

It's clear bandage tape with the gauze cut off. It was tough to put on that tiny foot! He is much stronger now. Not walking on the foot, hopping on the other but eating and drinking on it's own. Terrified of me poor thing! I will leave it on for a day or two longer to see if the toes straighten out so it can stay off. I suppose it would be like us wearing big floppy clown shoes!
She gets off the nest when I come into the coop in the morning, poops, eats, drinks, and then right back on the nest. I don't think she's lost any weight. I'm keeping an eye on her to make sure she's going to be a good mommy.
But I think she'll be ok. We moved her, nestbox and all, into the garage into a kennel, so we can keep an eye on her. I got lucky with these silkies... all of them started laying around 5-6 months!
Update, at the end of day 21, I had 20 hatched in bator, they we going crazy knocking around all the eggs (They started on day 20).
So I decided to take them out and put in brooder, because some were still pipping. Well, good thing I did, The power went out for 7 hours that night ( happens alot here in Brazil, especially now it is Springtime and rainy season), when I checked right away this morning the temp dropped to 64 degrees and humidity went way up and only one more hatched and it died a few hours later, after trying to warm it up! So the other eggs were all no good!( some were anyway)
Thank God it did not happen on day 19!!!!!!!
