Our 23 gold wyandotte eggs are on big day 5 in the incubator! Luckily things are moving fast around here as we try to get our little pasture transformed into a farm and orchard, so the time shouldn't drag too much.

Tori I got 2 more hatched just about a half hour ago that leaves 3 left with no pip and today is only day 22. They are too cute I got 8 pure and 3 mixed dorkings. I have been really thinking on what happens when we get our chicks so close and they just don't make it I am pretty sure mine was lack of air. I think once they got so far their air supply ran out (I had put a towel under the bators not realizing that there was holes under there blocking the air circulation) so ya might want to try that couldn't hurt hey. Sending hatching vibes to you. And don't worry if/when mine start laying I am going to hatch some and send them to you, we'll have dorkings in Alaska one way or another. And I just ran into a guy who is moving to Alaska next spring LOL lives just down the road from me, I already told him about you needing hatching eggs delivered LOL so we will see.

You're awesome! I wonder how long it takes to travel from MI to AK? What area is he moving to, did he say?
I do have an order with Ideal for chicks next spring - 29 total - so one way or another I will have them. It's an obsession now.

The one "mutt" egg under my broody Silkie just hatched this afternoon! We got back from a shopping trip just in time to see it push out. Momma's so proud!!!

Here's the two that have hatched so far, and I have a pip on the bottom left egg as well. This sure is a long, drawn-out hatch - this is 3 days after the first one opened up! (Day 23) The white ones were added to the nest later by other hens, so I will be moving those to the other hen shortly.
