YES . I had a very determined hen that went broody and we could NOT break her cycle , so we did the next best thing ,

We put 2 eggs under her on Tuesday Aug. 5
another egg on Aug. 6th. and another on Aug. 7th.

So , NOW we wait

I believe it's the temp. that makes them hatch early. A little to high. They should be fine.

It has happened to me, and probably most everyone who hatches from time to time.
good luck!

Yep... that's what I was thinking. Try a different thermometer, Hooterville, and see if they read the same. Congratulations all, on your new babies!

Thanks!

Almost all of my coturnix eggs hatched - within a couple of hours of each other! - and now the bobwhites are pipping.

Ok, my little baby is dry but crusty! Her feathers are stuck together and she feels crusty. Should I try to loosen them by using a warm damp towel or will she be OK?

She also has a bit of shell stuck on her. Other than that she looks terrific--(at least to me!) She has eyes and feet and little, tiny wings! I think she has some brahma or cochin in her--feathered feet! I'll have to check and see what Pidgey sent me.
Here's a pic of "Crusty".

My very first ever baby chickie!
I will need to join a support group after this!

I leave for 1 hour and come back to one hatched (black?) and two that are pushing off the shell as we speak. One of them wasn't even pipped an hour ago!

There are two more that have pipped - one pip is so small though I thought at first it was just a bump on the shell.

Dipsy - your eggs are fast hatchers! Vigorous little babies!
