1 little silver feather shanked marans hatched and doing great and 1 black marans pipped so far. I was shocked as today is only day 19 if I didn't make a mistake! Only 20 more to go

I'll be a zombie by the time this process is over

Morning update-

Cochin = 9
Showgirl = 1

One cochin is still in the shell - we ended up cracking it open for him around midnight last night. I have never encountered such a hard shell - make me wonder if this guy would have ever made it out OK by himself. He is still in the bator doing fine - it's day 23 for him.

There are also 3 more Cochin from Dipsy who haven't pipped yet.

I have 4 hatched NHRs, one rocking away unzipping, and three others pipped. One egg pipped low and fluids oozed out and hardened and started to smell so I removed it.

Looks like out of 14 duck eggs I've got one hatched rouen (he's kinda wet still but he looks rouenish) another one pipped but died. It's now day 31 I don't have much hope for the others.

i've got 8 of 16 pipped (yesterday) and the cracks are now growing - hearing some chirping. just curious how often you all see darkening on the large end of the shell before or as they are pipping? what causes this discoloration?

I hatched 12 bobwhites yesterday - 12 for 12 out of eggs that the female stockpiled for 15 days waaaaaayyyy in the back of her cage, all jumbled up in a pile, never turned. Now, why can't I do that with chicken eggs?

I am now waiting again... for 13 BBS orp eggs from Korfus Kluckers!!!! I have NEVER had this many eggs go into the hatcher with movement... never. 6 was the most. I am

I just got my video camer/vcr/ tv setup to play the hatch in the living room on the big screen. Now I can continue working here at the computer and just glance over.. instead of walking all the way into the next room to watch.

I got a stiff neck last hatch from that craning over the top nonesense!

Added: 5pm we got our 1st pip!
