Just looked up pictures of Nankins, and I agree with you 100%.

Nankins are bantams. He looks bigger than a bantam, but looks can be deceiving. Can you get a pic of him with something to give us an idea of size?

I've been reading a lot, but still don't know much about chickens, so this forum is very helpful! My rooster suspicions are mostly due to the difference is body shape from the two other chickens,, maybe that's just breed? The mystery chicken is slimmer and more angular... larger comb, and the tail is longer in comparison and points out and down, rather than up like the hens. Is it wrong to compare this chicken to two different breeds of the same age as a gender gauge?

Good eye. Those are rooster signs. Also the darker shading on the wings, as mentioned. His legs are also thicker than a pullet's.

Update: He absolutely turned out to be a rooster, and a fiercely aggressive one too. Too bad, he has to go.
