LOL we need a wet chicken smilie. Soaking wet chicken people. I just went out to feed the older poults and chicks - so of course it started to pour on me... SIGH

OKay, had one stuck backwards in the egg - silly thing and one that was too dry, but that's five out of six due today that made it. Looks like I did lose one about day 15/16. Two more due tomorrow or the next day. The broody gals in the henhouse have peepers as well. I may check on them if the rain stops, ever.

Well I have not seen momma duck since Sunday, so maybe, just maybe this is the last 3 days coming up, which would make me right with the 28th due date for the ducks and guineas. We will see.

My broodies are due on the 5th, will see what happens there. Their babies never seem to make it for some reason. They hatch and then they are gone, or they do not hatch at all.

I sat down and figured everything out and I was excited about nothing. My duck and Guinea eggs are not due to hatch until the 5th of June, give or take a few days. So I still have:

9 days to go.

I will be candling my shipped eggs soon and I will then know how lucky I got this round. I am thinking candle this weekend that way I will have a better chance of seeing through the brown eggs. Hoping to have quite a few fertile of each, if not next year I will be buying the baby chicks to start where I want.

The whole staggering hatches can leave you totally confuddled as to due dates ...

And LOL, the batch of Buff/BR turkey eggs I set to check for fertility (first week with tom) two went fertile - I have spider babies! Go Jake! Of course now I have to hatch them....

Anyone in TN want turkey eggs???

I had something hatch this morning!!! I have some mixed (meaning I forgot to label) chicken eggs, guinea, and blue slate turkey eggs in the hatcher. It was definitely a chicken of some sort, but hmmmm..... don't know what kind!

Still no more guineas.

I don't want just a lonely guinea. I need a whole flock!!!!!

I don't think my turkeys will hatch!!!

I NEED a turkey!!!!!!

Walkswithdog... have we discussed this???? Do you have Blue Slates?

I have Bourbon Red Tom and two Buff hens... Buffy and Rachel. So now that's all I've got and well over 20 BR poults of different ages...

But here's my hatch! All with the Momma's now.

ME: Cool, What is it?
DH: I don't know but it's UGLY!!!!
ME: Hmmmmm

I just got home and checked out the mysterious ugly chick. GUESS WHAT?!?!?!?!? It's a Splash Showgirl!!!!
