One side of the egg is marked with an X and the other with an O. That's how I originally read to mark the eggs, so that when you roll them, you know which ones have been rolled, etc. The other side of the araucana eggs is written on, noting what group of her chickens they came from (whether they came from her rooster names Pete's group or Jack's, etc.).
I wouldn't have known to ask that about the peafowl eggs, CB. Thank you. Do you already have these birds as adults? Maybe you can either dispel or confirm what I have heard... It seems that everyone says that they are dirty, messy birds that have a knack for ruining things, including vehicles (as they apparently like to roost there), with the males being known for being aggressive, quite often. I think that they are pretty, but everything that I hear makes me shy away...
