Well, not precisely.
I have one RIR, and the girl surprised me with massive brown eggs, on par with a storebought 'large'
I have 2 Ameraucanas which give me lovely light greenish-beige eggs, I get 2 most days.

My to Barred Rocks have me wondering.
I don't get as many of their pinkish brown eggs as pf the beige ones it seems (I will need to keep better track)
I found one shell-less egg one time a few weeks ago, but nothing since I made sure the oyster shell is always out. All chickens seem to behave normally.
I got them last May, they have been lying since November.
While I have a coop cam, I can't use it to check, since those hens look nearly identical, even when I am close up, and naturally, the camera is above the nest, so I can't see anything.

I am wondering, not worrying. They seem all happy and healthy for now, and I have surplus in eggs.

ETA I do get between 2 and 3 eggs most days, today I got 4:
1 brown, 2 beige, and one pinkish brown

So you think when I examine my 2 barred rock ladies I can tell with a degree of certainty which one is more active a layer?

and yeah, as soon as I said I have not seen a shell less egg I found one again this morning.
I do have oyster shell out, and I put layer pellets out yesterday again (although I don't think this would be a fast acting remedy

Thank you for linking this.

A soft shell egg is more of a glitch in the egg laying than in the diet. And you are right, adding oyster shell is not a immediate fix. I have found that shell less eggs stop on their own in about the same amount of time, if I change nothing or add oyster shell.

I had one who dropped softies for a couple weeks every time she went into or out of molt.

she seems happy. I guess she is just not a prolific layer. It's all good. 2-3 eggs a day is plenty for my family. And I have a few spares for friends.

well, seems I have been worrying for nothing.
Yesterday I checked my girl out, but could not see anything out of place. (of course, I barely know what to look for)
This morning I found 2 of the pinkish eggs, plus a nice big brown one for comparison.
All is well at Casita de Pollo
