I love Meyer! I can order a variety of birds and have them safely shipped to my home in eastern Ohio. They have an 'easy to use' website with great descriptions and useful tips. They have wonderful costumer service run by knowledgeable, friendly individuals. I will use them for all if my poultry needs!

Have dealt with Meyer Hatchery twice and both times have been great! I live about an hour away and picked up both chick orders. Staff were friendly and helpful, chicks were healthy and when I submitted my orders on the phone the phone people were great! Nothing but positive things to say about them. :)

I love Meyer Hatchery. They were awesome! The ordering process was great. After watching their site for months on availability and carefully selecting the breeds I wanted, when I was able to order one of the breeds I wanted was no longer available according to their website. When I called, I talked to the representative and she found 3 of them available and was able to get my order as I wanted it without any problems!!! We live about 2 hours away from the facility, so we chose to drive up and check it out. It was clean. Not just clean, immaculate. Very helpful staff. We are completely new to chickens. These babies were our first experience. We chose them because they were close, so I felt that our chicks had better survival rates, they were highly rated everywhere we looked to verify their standards, and unlike a couple other hatcheries nearby have never had violations in their inspections. They are also very clear on their policies and fair with their methods to resolve any issues someone may have. We love our chickens. They are six weeks old and beautiful!!!

1. They have high quality poultry
2. They are very polite. Great customer service.
3. They are the cheapest hatchery.
4. You don't have to buy in large quantities - If you want just a couple chicks for your backyard, you can buy as low as 3!
5. They carry a large selection of poultry.
6. Not only do they carry poultry and hatching eggs, they sell poultry supplies, decor, books, posters, DVDs, apparel, incubators and more.
Those are just a few reasons why they are my favorite! We have an order coming in at the end of this month, super excited!!! Love Meyer's!

I love them. They are community minded and will donate chicks for people to raise and give the eggs to charity. What other hatchery does that? They are generous and have had many contests. Can't say enough about them!!

I really like Meyers Hatchery. I've used them for all my birds except the first 3...and one of those ended up with a cross-beak. But all the Meyer's chicks have been nice and healthy. Over the years I've ordered about 5 times from them, for a total of 35 chickens. We've had 100% success on the sexing of our chicks

Since we are only an hour away, we've always picked the chicks up in person. I've been able to purchase supplies (feed, heated waterer, etc) while I'm there, and they also have decorative items. I'm getting my first "batch" of started pullets from them at the end of the month, but expect nothing but the same great service that I've received over the years. Thanks Meyers!

I picked up my first order of chicks from Meyer on April 1st. All 26 of them are doing great. I had sent an email with a question not long after placing my order and got a prompt and friendly reply. When I went to pick up my chicks the store was pretty busy and the staff was friendly and efficient. I especially liked the fact that when the cashier brought out my chicks and opened the box for me to inspect them she couldn't help but smile at them! Can't wait to go back in June!

I love Meyer... never had a issue with them. I don't order many hatchery birds anymore, but I used to and have had experience with more than a handful of hatcheries. And when I do order from hatchery (like I just ordered some pullets for my mother) I go to Meyer first.

Now, I want to know why the OP asked... leaving me on the edge of my seat here!

I think Meyer is great! I just received my shipment of 15 chicks from them this morning. This is my first time with chicks, and I was VERY nervous to open the box, worried that I'd see one or more casualties from the trip. Not the case! The packaging was perfect, with a heat pack and lots of protection from potentially careless postal workers. All the chicks were in great shape! They settled in wonderfully today, and are now happily eating, drinking, playing, (and pooping! Oy!) in the brooder.

Because this is my first time with chicks, I had lots of questions as I prepared for their arrival. I called Meyer twice for advice and both times received excellent patient, knowledgable customer service. I'd order from them again in a heartbeat.
