I just completed my 4th hatch yesterday and I am cleaning up the bator now for the next one. I only do chickens so far. But when my DH gets the motorcycle out of the living room I'm setting up my new (used) bator that holds over 800 eggs.
I got hooked in 1964, hatching chicken. Collect incubators. Have hatched , chicken, ducks, geese, turkeys, guineas, peafowl, quail, pheasants, chukars,Ostrich, rheas, parrots, cockatiels, the last to was a bad idea lot of time to feed those the first week.
MY first attempt was not successful out of 7 red golden pheasant eggs I did not have any to hatch, (homemade incubator in my room in the summer= west end of the trailor) 1 developed but did not make it! Then I waited and my BILIL Gave me a incubator and so I wanted to hatch to see if I could, momma said ok set 9RIR that the hens had been giving dewormer med so we could not eat them, they did not hatch and with them I set a dozen of cochins and RIR from a friend for $1.50 and hatched 8 = 7 cochins and RIR (Buff) two died to leave me with 6 they hatched 10/22 and now I have 9 ringneck pheasant eggs and 18 from the same friend $2.00 I am on day 6 i think and won 10 + quail eggs from ebay and they are on their way and I will add them to the batch.
SO NO I AM NOT ADDICTED!!
I will set RED/YELLOW Golden Pheasants as soon as she lays and I plan on swapping my BILIL for Red Golden pheasant and then my cousin has yellow golden pheasants that I want to hatch some of them!!
