I say it's a rat.

Too big to be a mouse.

Experts out there?

Here is an excellent close up of a good print, even got the foot pad!

The same print, but in my boot print. Helps for scale, eh?

Here is a hole the little bugger tried to dig; but ran into fence. He has done many such, and they seem to go nowhere. I check em out.............

So this is a rat situation, would you say.

NB: I am out in the boondocks, not in a town or city. All this activity is strictly NOCTURNAL, also.

I had an eastern field rat as a best friend rat for four years...yep. rat prints.
Mice feet would be closer together.
