Well there you have it, one more natural predator of hawks. The thought occurred to me that the deer might be rabid, but maybe it just felt like being a hero that day. Maybe if hawks become a problem in my yard, I'll get me one of these

Neat video. I think it was just going after the hawk more so than actually saving the rabbit. Likely triggered because eagles are known to kill new fawns.

I think the doe goes nuts when she hears the crying of the rabbit (which is similar to bleeting distress sounds of a fawn).
The poor hawk had not thought of that scenario.

This.^^ I'm guessing mamma had a fawn close by and the crying rabbit triggered her into action.
