Who Saw The Belmont?

The steroid injections couldn't have been legal....could they????? Aaand, a while ago they said BB would retire to stud regardless of the outcome of the Belmont. Well, now he's back to racing next month, so is the stud deal off?

A very important horse race.

Well, I guess importance is relative. It is the third race in the Triple Crown - it is a long race and the bane of thoroughbreds the world over.

Kinda like the last quarter of the Superbowl, or the final game of the World Series.

Its like that.

Yes, they are legal at this time, but not for long. Noone is even sure if they make a difference in how well a horse runs. There has been no difinitive studies. Eitherway, they are on the way out. They were decided not to be used after the death of Eight Belles. Some speculations were made that they may have contributed to her breakdown, but again, nothing difinitive.

After all the recent tragedies and disappointments in racing, I'm looking forward to next year when Nicanor (Barbaro's full brother) will eligible to run in the Triple Crown.

I don't think he looked comfortable with his bit either!!!! My horse acted exactly like that when he got the bit under his tongue one day, over reacting, flinging his head, and reluctant to put the pedal to the metal. I'm still guessing it's his bit/teeth
