WIth my polish chicks, the male has a big "tophat" compared to the other and the feathers on top go up then curve to look like a well rounded "hat". Also, the comb is usually bigger in roosters. Even more, if it's growing out the tail feathers he'll probably have ones that curve down wards. Another thing is the neck. Males tend to have skinny, long neck feathers that are really dense in the neck. Last, you could check his legs, the roosters usually get much thicker legs.
