WHO THIS ON MY LAKE??? A SECOND SNOW GOOSE SHOWED UP!! (MORE pics)

It looks like a Ross' Goose to my eyes. The smaller white goose in the attached photo is a Ross' among snow geese and blue geese which a a far more common colour phase. Note how much smaller and dainty it looks, even when compared to younger juvenile blue geese beside it.

Beautiful Pictures, We had a pair of Canadian geese visit our property last spring, and it was so funny watching our only goose and our 8 ducks watch them, they didn't know what was happening. I couldn't stand it I gave them some scratch grains, They ate laid around for a while came back 2 more times then went down to the river and nested hatched out 2 and stayed around for awhile then off they went. I was so cool. We also see wood ducks and other wild ducks in the river but what you have is really awesome. Keep the pictures coming.

im defently going to have to get a place of my own with a pond.
ducks are some of my fav birds.
i love seeing the pictures and hope you keep taking more and more.!
how big is yur pond?

We use to have a blue colored snow goose who took up residence when we had a pair of china browns. We lost the male brown and soon, a white snow goose showed up. We got another brown and an Emden who was laying. Then we lost the recently acquired brown to coyotes. The next thing we knew, we had ten goslings and were putting everybody up at night, except the snow geese. The snow geese left. That was over two years ago in April.

We rescued an Easter duck that was dyed red. We name him Little Peep after the marshmallows treats you get that time of year. The dyed feathers eventually fell out and until yesterday, he was the only white bird on the pond at night. But yesterday, a small white goose, like a snow goose, showed up. He hangs around the Little Peep most of the time but he was grazing with the other eleven later in the day. Several time I had heard geese go over right around Thanksgiving and I think they were snow geese so this one may be staying the winter.

Also around Thanksgiving, our visiting merganser left and two days later, and American Coot showed up. Around that time, Little Peep paired up with a female Mallard and now the snow goose is hanging with them. The Coot has started hanging around one of the Mottled ducks but I don't know if the Mottled takes him seriously. But in the end, I think the male Mallards will get aggressive come laying season and the population will thin out like it does every year. All we can do is enjoy the visitors while they're here and try to make sure they have a good meal from time to time.
