Anyone? I have colored eggs, so i gave up on candling, but, but im currently on day # ten and all of them have shed 2-3 grams each from the weight i had right before i put them in incubator. Is that sound ok like they are developing right?

That depends entirely on what they weighed before you started incubating them. Did you weigh them before you started incubating?

Edit: I have no clue why I asked why you didn't weight them before incubation, you clearly did, lol.

Since you weighed the eggs before incubating them, you can calculate what the weight loss should be by day 10 or any day for that matter. You can do this by the numbers with math or by plotting the weights on a graph and you can do this with an average of all the eggs weights together or for each individual egg. Let me know which way you would like to do this and I can give you more detailed instructions on that way or, if you want, you can send me the weights and I will do the calculations or a graph for you, whichever you would like. For future reference, I have found it easiest to use a digital scale and to measure the weights in grams, but you should do it whatever way is easiest for you.

You should be able to candle those just fine, they're pretty light in colour. What candler are you using?
I have never weighed so I can't help there.

i bought an egg candler, but, Its not bright enough to see nor hold these eggs incase of another dreaded accident. its obv size for banty chicken eggs (ordered online) its no better than using a flashlight. The pigment of the easter eggs i have nev been able to see veins or had luck with etc, as i have with white eggs. Its very difficult!

Some suggestions for candlers that actually work, if you're so inclined to look more... I'm assuming you're in a dark room when you try?
Yes, i just get impatient and kinda on a budget plus someone advised me its more accurate to weigh eggs but i love seeing them move it becomes more real. Lol i will check it out these eggs are alot harder than they look to candle i haven't tried a tan one yet maybe tonight i will attempt the tan one the easter egga have a puzzled looking pigment its so hard to explain

:thumbsup I know what you mean. I incubate mostly brown/green eggs and they can be difficult to see into sometimes. Some have followed the recommended guidelines for weight loss but still had issues with too big/small air cells so I am a bit wary of trying it. :confused:

@ChickenCanoe weighs, I think.
