who weighs their eggs opposed to candling

ok starting weighta started prior to incubating 52.6 and all im weighing are on day 10.
All in grams and all are on day 10 started weight and weighht on day 10:
52.6 & 48.8
54.9 and now 52.0
57.4 and 53.3
55.3 & 52.2
55.3 & 52.2
52.2 & 49.0

So, an egg should lose about 11 to 13 percent of its weight by lockdown. I like to go by 12 percent since it's right down the middle. So what you do is you take the weight of your egg before you started incubation and multiply it by .12 to see how much it should lose. Take the result of that and divide it by 18, and you can see how much weight it should lose each day. So for example, your first egg should lose .36 grams a day, roughly. Multiply that by ten and we can see that it should have lost 3.6 grams by day 10. Yours has lost 3.8, which is very close and should be fine.

You can do that for all your eggs if you want, but usually just checking a couple is fine.

The only time I ever did a weight recording was during a batch in the last Halloween Hatch a Long. I did two separate recordings. Weighed at the time of setting & the time of lock down. All of the eggs lost an average of 2 to 3 grams of weight. It was interesting to me at the time from being the first batch I ever weighed before.
A learning experience.
