It's no contest for me. I had a great dog, super smart. But he has passed on now. And what am I stuck with. A crazy, biting, great Pryeness mutt that is huge and tackles you, and chases everything and blah. Sure I love her. But gosh darn does she get annoying some times.
I believe I have the smartest goat in the world.
Not kidding
Goatie my first, a Pygmy/Fainting cross. Was bought at two days old. She lived in the house for months. And YES! She was potty trained.
Since then we have purchased a farm and she lives outside now. But to her disgust. She does not know she is a goat in any way because she was only raised with dogs her first year of life.
We now have a total of 9 goats, with 4 being pregnent. And Goatie to this day still hates every single one.
She gets out of 6' chainlink fencing with rebar pounded along the botton to keep her from digging out. If a goat gets within 5ft of her she head butts them flying. (Which by the way is quite annoying)
She runs free, and sleeps on the front porch by the door. She knows her name and will run to me if I ever call her.
She listens to me and me only. She is a stinker for anyone else and everyone but me hates her.
She will do anything for food. She loves Bar-B-Que potatoe chips the best.
She walks on a leash, can pull a cart, heck she has even pulled me on a sled in the snow.
She can shake hands, bow, rear, dance, moonwalk, and even answer yes and no questions!
If you yell at her, she yells right back. It is funny, but obnoxious at the time when your mad at her for eating your flowers.
She is the most spoiled goat on the earth. And so exciting she is due to have a baby in two weeks! It took 9 months for her to finally let our buck do his stuff. She doesn't want any goats near her at all. And will actually snort and wipe her nose on you dramaticly if she smells one.
Her most favorite thing to do is to ride in the car. Anytime you open the door she jumps in and lays down. As soon as it starts she falls asleep with her head on my lap.
I love her to pieces and have taken her to parades, picnics, parties, and trick or treating. She will wear clothes.
She greets us at the driveway when we get home, and will follow our car.
She is the best pet anyone could ever ask for. And 100 times smarter than my new dog. Although my old one is greatly missed, god rest his poor soul. Goatie was very happy to step right in as the family 'dog'. And too this day she still thinks she is.
She is 3 years old now. And just as rotton as ever. And yes some dogs are great. And mine was. But that was a once in a lifetime dog, and I will never find another. I am just not satisfied with any other dog now that I have had the best. But believe me I still love dogs, even my stinker puppy. But goats are characters that are in their own catagory.
