we never trust our barn cats to be any where neer the youngsters they will kill at the drop of a hat.
we had to have a tom put down that had killed some of our adult bantams, tried to get a standard turkin hen ripped her throat pretty bad, and jumped on a sebright and was tring to kill her luckly I was in the barn and came running when I heard the hen screaming. Since we had the tom taken care of we have had no more deaths. So keep an eye on the cats
 
:)My two cats are fine with the chickens i even have a cat named bird belly and she does not mess with the chickens but she loves wild birds yummm....
