She is an excellent choice. I have heard from people that were against McCain and not going to vote at all and now they are looking at McCain with new eyes. This could seal it for him.

I agree. DH said he wasn't voting for McCain but for S. Palin. This election has be tweeked up a notch. It would be good to know her stance on foreign policy. I believe she is to debate Biden on Sept. 2nd. Our country and all the candidates could use our prayers.

But she's also a good choice in her own right, with intelligence, common sense and moral courage. She's done well by Alaska, and last but not least, she's untouched by scandal.

oh,
More recently, she has come under the scrutiny of an investigation by the Republican-controlled legislature into the possibility that she ordered the dismissal of Alaska's public safety commissioner because he would not fire her former brother-in-law as a state trooper

I disagree with voting based on gender or race but am not surprised at all about McCain's choice of running mate. It seems like pandering to conservatives and a blatant attempt to get the votes of the Hillary supporters.

Palin & McCain's politics and viewpoints are waaaay too conservative for me. Neither will get my vote, even if Palin is a woman. So she can lactate... so what? I wouldn't vote for McCain if I were a man & we had that in common.

The future of the Supreme Court is in the hands of the next president. McCain will install conservative judges who will reduce women's rights. I refuse to vote for a ticket who would do that to women.

Is Palin really against corrupt government? She is on record saying that the indictment of the Alaskan senator was "very dismaying".” It's hardly "dismaying" to see someone brought to justice for accepting - and failing to disclose - these types of deals.

Well, all I know is that my husband thinks she is an excellent choice and he hates everybody, won't even vote, so I think that's saying alot.

I hate that they will use her having chosen to have Downs' child as some kind of statment of excellence or true womanhood or Christianity. That is a personal decision, and no one has a right to force either side of that on a woman.

Though I don't personally think I could terminate a pregnancy due simply to a diagnosis of Downs, and though I never had an ultrasound or amnio or any other tests on any of my pregancies for that reason, I would still support completely the rights of my sisters, daughters and mother to make that difficult decision for themselves.

I don't like the idea of Palin being held up as a paragon of virtue because she made the decision that was right for herself and her family.

You don't hear the male candidates being judged on their childbearing and childrearing choices.

This is personal stuff, peeps. Vote based on her voting record - uh, if she has one. Oops, she's never l had to vote on much of anything, has she?

Hmn.

best to all.

Exactly my thoughts Cyn! This is going to be a historical election all the way around! I was also hoping for Romney, but I will take Palin.
