Hi! PLEASE HELP BACK YARD CHICKEN EXPERTS
smile.png

I was wondering if anyone knows about the quality of the coops from the "Wholesale Chicken Coop Company"?
I was searching online for a prefab coop with a run attached. I came across them but the prices seem so good I wonder what they are like.
Any other good companies I should look at if this is not a good one ?
I have 4 - 5 week old chickies who will be way too big for their rubbermaid bin in the basement in a few weeks.
Thank you for reading my post.

I've never owned one of these types of coops, but from others' posts I can relate that they are not well built and do not hold up to the weather very well over time. Those who have purchased them have generally had to reinforce them and seal gaps. Many who buy them end up purchasing something more substantial and often keep the original as a hospital, or a grow out coop, etc. You get what you pay for I guess. In addition, the dimensions of those coops are very small, and if you notice, includes the nestboxes. The manufacturer states it can hold "4 to 8+" chickens. I wouldn't put more than 2 - 3 birds into one of those. You might try looking on CL for someone selling a used coop. Also, you can often find better constructed playhouses or sheds on CL that can be converted. The forum is filled with threads from people who did not put enough forethought into the coop they purchased (um, myself included!) and learned the hard, and expensive, way. Good luck with your babies and
