Thats true, these Minnesota winters are kinda rough!
Though really, what I thought was they didnt have to be shipped as far? That may or may not have something to do with it.
So far just the two black babies and a yellow one is trying to hatch. He is taking a while but I know not all of them hatch as quickly as the first two.
Susan, still nothing but I am NOT giving up hope!
Yours went in a day or so after the banties, and my hatches seem to be running a day to two days later. I generally have the temps at around 99/100 so that may have something to do with it.
On candling they all appeared viable so all I can do is HOPE.

I also sure hope this little blondie fuzzy butt hatches soo!
PS I will be back on again this evening, sorry my update is kinda late!

The little blonde fuzzy hatched, however it took him a long time and he is having a hard time staying upright. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

So far nothing else, but I am not giving up hope!
Then towards the end of the week there are more due to hatch.

Well, he cries if the other two dont stick right by him, but he is walking and such. So the jury is still out. I know it isnt that he is too cold because the brooder is plenty warm.
LOL, my 16 year old named these three after three of her older siblings. The little black ones after her two older sisters who "tag team" up on the younger brother. Which is the one the blondie fuzzy is named after.

She did that because they are constantly bowling him over while they are tearing around. Fast little things!!

Mags,

Glad to hear that you are having some more success hatching. I've got some Welsummer's due on Thanksgiving. I can hear one peeping occasionally already.

Take care,
Shane

Well, I am happy if I get a couple of chicks out of a hatch from shipped eggs.

The babies I hatched out of your eggs are doing great, feathering out wonderfully, really beautiful chicks!
No noise so far from the incubator, but in the other hatches I only heard peeping a couple of times before they pipped. I will be gone overnight tomorrow so I wont have to work too hard at sitting on my hands if the hatch goes decently!
The two little black banties are healthy and lively, the blondie is hanging on, we will just have to wait and see what happens.
Everyone have a great Thanksgiving!
