Whoops Temp low first 48+ hours

Whoops Temp low first 48+ hours (98*F)

from setting Feb 22 @ 6:00 pm - Feb 24th 11:00am my temp was low- my first thermometer crapped out and the second thermometer is hard to read w/o opening the bator (non dyed mercury glass).

Now what? AM I xx hours behind now? or what?

it is normal for the temp to drop when you first put eggs into the bator.. once the eggs warm up, the temp should go to 99.5F IF hat is where you had it stabilized before you set the eggs in..

don't raise the temp just yet..

Its been 48+ hours tho-
Oh its an LG with a PC fan in it...

OK I have 8 LG bators.. nice bator.. don't believe everything bad you hear about them..

I have hatched quail, guinea, chicken, duck, turkey and goose..

OK , did you have the temp stabilized well in advance of setting the eggs? You have to answer truthfully in order for us to help..

I am going to PM you a note.. we will have your problems solved by tonight.. in the mean time, 98F is ok..

Cant say the digital thermometer was 'stuck' and needed a new battery- I thought I had it stable at 100.0*F but when turning I looked at the other thermometer because the inside felt too cool and low and behold it was human body temp.

It was set up 24 hours in advance as the eggs were resting.

True but 'contact' heat is different then 'air' heat, air heat heeds to be higher to dive the egg's inside temp to the right place.-

-My temp is stable now-
