Who's all ready for fall?

okay, i do miss perfectly cool weather and wonderful hot chocolate.

but, school...

If we had a winter like the last one, no problem. +40s and +50s the WHOLE time! None of that -20 nonsense, we usually get.

Ugh, no, don't remind me. With fall comes school, and after fall comes winter. Blah.

Our fall up here in Maine has been wicked hot and sunny... only a few rain showers! Crazy.

I'm ready for it, spring and fall are my favorite seasons. One of the things I like best about eastern NC is we have long seasons of both. I've already caught myself eyeballing the firewood pile and making a note to clean the chimney soon.

I'd like it more 2007 style: A foot of snow, a nice holiday, a real Christmas tree (I talked my mom into a real one last year, but it was scraggly and 8 feet tall with no real top. Those trees bring bad luck

), a nice mug of hot chocolate, with a cute little dog rolling in the snow making sure I'm okay every time I sled and protecting me from the nasty Rotweiller up the hill. Minus the loss part.

If I make it through September without losing anyone dear to me (September seems to be the month everybody, if they're going to go this year, dies in our family

), I'm doing pretty good for the year.

I agree with the post above this one! SKIP SUMMER!!!


However, here in San Diego we have been having a bit of an odd year. Last year the weather didn't cool down until DECEMBER! I thought summer was going to last FOREVER! It finally started getting cool in January, and now here we are in August and having record lows! It's crazy! We had one hot spell a few weeks back where it got 104*, but currently it's still in the 70's and 80's! I mean I love it but it's just SO unusual, usually it's 110 right now!

Where do you have room for all that stuff, in SD? I would think you'd need a parking permit, for a mastiff! Those are cow-sized dogs, aren't they?
