This can be an incredibly stressful time for critters. I keep all of my dogs (6) in the house (in their own areas - some don't like the others) during "celebrations" that seem to require fireworks. Ideally I plan ahead and give everyone a raw chunk of beef femur. They tend to focus on getting out the marrow and making sure no one else will take the bone away. I remembered to get bones this year - so far so good!
