Who's got a bald chicken?

I do. I have 6 (yes 6!!!) bantam brahma roos that are...shall we say- a little rough... I have 5 girls and it's my two small girls that get "picked on" the most. Of course they LOVE my only bantam brahma girl, followed by my GL Wyandotte. They seam to be leaving my Sebright alone (of course she picks on them!). My two BIG standard Cochin girls seem to be untouched......which is kind of sad because those two are the ones that I want babies from...... The size difference is really rather funny!

OK here are the pics. I had to take them behind my glass slider, because the rooster is feeling extra feisty today.

My RIR and BA are the unfortunate ones. Poor girls! I just painted them with pine tar yesterday.

Gosh, I thought I was the only one to have a naked hen this time of year! The roos broke the feathers off all the hens last spring/summer, they finally grew back after the fall molt. Except one fairly small girl. she went through the entire winter with a totally naked back. Now the roos are starting to jump on the hens again, and I'm really hoping they won't be as rough as last year... live chickens look so much better with feathers!!

Yeah, mine are all nude, too. Rooster is going into seclusion I think.

I'm frustrated with it all because I tried aprons, but I just couldn't size them right, so they kept taking them off. Tied 'em on, and they developed opposeable thumbs and untied 'em. So I guess Rooster in the garage for a few weeks is what I'm going to have to do. I'm hoping the new bigger run and the addition of two pullets later this summer might alleviate things some, too.

Add my name to the list.. I have 9 girls and 7 are completely bald!! We need someone to make little 'powder-puff' football helmets for these girls... I did get rid of my roo-- he was sooo handsome but he had gotten down right mean.. So, he is gone and HOPEFULLY my girls will grow some feathers back on those pitful little bald heads..

Sigh....
I don't even have a rooster to blame

My little Houdan resembles Curly Joe Stooge
After a Winter of Boredom the other 4 have picked her topknot out.
Everytime she starts growing pinfeathers they pick those out too!
I can't seem to get the BluKote on her fast enough!

Now that they are getting some time out of the coop (their choice, I left door to the yard open as long as it was not bitter cold - they just didn't want to step in the snow - even with hay put down on top) she is growing her topper back slooooooooowly - right now she has 2 long feathers in back - like a Vegas Showgirl.

I am in the same situation but mine have their backs bare not the back of the head. I have 10 girls to ONE rooster. They are wearing saddles now but... What are we going to do???

I have a bald hen who after the roo was gone never grew her feathers back. The roo has been gone for a year and still no feathers

Strange but true. And SIX roos to FIVE hens?? WOWY...those poor girls. I would give four the boot.
