I'm hatching Pekin Ducks! Today is Day 11 of my very first hatch, and due April 16!!

FINALLY getting some action --- tomorrow is day 26 on some of the call duck eggs, got one internal pip tonight - which means a long wait, probably.

I have four due tomorrow, and three more due two days later -

I'm hatching Welsh Harlequin duck eggs! Today is day 5, and out of 15 eggs I see beautiful embryos and veins in 13 of them...the other two I'm not sure, as the shells are really speckley for some reason, but I'm not writing them off. This is exciting for me because they are in an incubator that I made myself last week...can you believe it?! I made something and it actually works!!!

I have 6 cayuga ducks on day 26. I took them out of the turner yesterday.

I am on day 20 - I am on day 20!!!!

Due to hatch next Wednesday are 1 buff goose and 4 white runners. YAY!

Plus I candled and I saw veining in at least one pilgrim egg - I think that more than half of them will be developing tomorrow. There were 3 or 4 that were clear, but I'm pretty psyched!

Then after next Wednesday I have gooses hatching every other day just about - and the ducks - OM lord, the ducks are coming out of the woodwork. I've almsot lost track!

I have one entire incubator filled with duck eggs.

Most of my first call eggs are infertile I think - I have 6 collected right now that I will pop in after I throw this bunch out - but I'll wait until Sunday to do that because to be hoenst I did lose track of those ones, some have been in there for a week and some only a few days.

AND - I bought 4 blue goose eggs on ebay and the guy sent me 20 saxony eggs instead! Now what am I gonna do? I have NO room for 20 more duck eggs, those last 4 goose eggs were pushing it.

I e-mailed him but he hasn't answered me back...I want my goose eggs.

My dumb call duck girl has been laying every other day or so, this week - naturally, since I have two batches to go out in swaps.

But I got a baby duckie half out in the bator - I think it's a girl

she is very dark, and very tired... hope she gets out all the way and does well.

so far no other action on the other 6 eggs in there.

please please please I hope I hatch more call ducks!!! I don't want to keep doing them one at a time!!
