I just hatched(or I should say my broody cochin did) 3 duck eggs this past weekend. They are the CUTEST ever. I didn't realize bantam ducks would be so much smaller than the regular size ducks. THey look like little toy ducks, lol.

How did I miss this thread?

I just hatched out one live call duck baby (my first duck hatch) and put 4 call eggs in the hatcher today - and four more to go in in two days.

My first hatch of the call ducks didn't go well - but I got ONE ! so I am pleased.

One other pipped, zipped, and died on me (a lovely dark baby girl, too

)

I am hoping for better hatches this time.

I have Silver Appleyard eggs coming from a swap, and some white call duck eggs coming from the waterfowl swap in a week or so (she is testing fertility first

)

Oh, and I have 7 Buff Goose eggs in the bator, too. Got a LONG while to wait on those - never hatched geese, either, might get interesting.

Congratulations on your new baby did it hatch on day 28 or before?
I have call duck eggs in my incu and i want to know when to expect the first pip.

I'm real nervous these are my first ever Duck Eggs

I have heard that the calls hatch at day 25 or 26 - so I am looking for that with the next batch - I'll let you know what day they hatch on. I put these into the bator from eggs I found actually IN the coop

so they ought to be more steady temp-wise before going into the bator.

to be honest, I didn't expect any of those four eggs to hatch - I'm glad I got one and almost two - the other two eggs were dead before pip.

We had two runner ducks hatch earlier this morning, and the third is hatching now!!!!

My babies are due to hatch tomorrow,I have one that has been rocking since yesterday afternoon and has a pip today,The others aren't doing anything,Should I worry yet?
