Who's Hatching Ducks? Hatch With Us!! *Page 3*

If the egg has a large hole in it where you can see the beak, and there is no progress within 12 hours (16 hours max), then I would help. I will go take a picture of the egg and post it here so you can see what I mean. Just because the duckling can breathe, doesnt me that he cant die. He could get stressed out in the shell.

I just helped out my gray call with the large hole. He was definitely ready to come out. Poor thing skinned a tiny piece of his beak on the shell. All of the veins were absorbed, and all of the yolk was absorbed.

Here are some pictures of him.

First picture is of the hole he made in the shell.

Second picture is of me helping him out.

Third picture is of him out of the shell. His head is out, so I set him back in the carton to finish getting the rest of the way out. After I set him back in, I added some hot water to a sponge in the incubator to bump back up the humidity. The other pipped eggs are making progress. Probably they will all be out by tonight.

Anybody use a Hovabator 1588 to hatch duck eggs i had been thinking of getting one of those??
Did it give you a good hatch i would love to hatch some more duck eggs??

Folks on BYC just rave about them hatching eggs so well.

I placed 7 Pekin eggs last night! One cracked in shipping:( , 3 americanas due on Saturday!! Where do I get duck food around Cleveland,Ohio? (counting my ducks before they hatch!)
