I set 24 silkie eggs today

I have only set shipped eggs and have always had a good hatch from shipped eggs...if you buy from true experienced breeders they always pack them perfectly...

That's fun. You incubate about 50-100 eggs weekly ? That's a lot of chickies a week !

I can't imagine how much fun that many chickies would be ! Too cute ! Hope you can post a pic. I wonder what 100 chickies look like all so cute and fluffy and so many of them !

I guess it looks like those bins at the Tractor Supply Store around Easter ! Too many cute little fluffy chickies running around, all cheeping and just too adorable.

That sounds like a lot of fun, raising so many chickies. You're so lucky!

Yes I do sell a lot of "table eggs" and yes the incubator has an auto turner. I have turned hand in the past but I eventually invested in turners for my table top styrofoam incubators too.

Recieved the eggs yesterday, and just put them in incubater today. December 1st hatch? I sure hope we at least get 1

What kind are your chickies ?

My chickies are supposed to be Buff Orpington, but if I didn't guess right they will be crosses of Buff Orpingtons/RIR or BO/Dominque. I miss typed, there were 31 eggs in the bator

. I candled tonight, and went into lockdown a day early because the grandkids are coming for the weekend. I'm down to 28 eggs, and will be happy if I get 15. DH is guessing 20, but I think 15 or 16.

I can't wait to post pictures

Well Monday is the big day. I have two ducks ready to hatch Monday and we are waiting. No one has hatched eggs from these duck except the mom. We have her daughters eggs ready to hatch Monday so we can't wait to see what they look like. We also lost our other chick. Not sure what happened but he wasn't breathing when I opened the shell. Poor little Julia is all by her self now until the ducks hatch out. Can't believe she is so lonely. I try and keep her company and she has a toy puff ball but she still is alone. She is eating and drinking well.

So, you only expect about 37 to hatch ?

Hoping all will hatch, but 37 would be good.

I've yet to hear about a 100% hatch rate. We were so devoted to turning 3x a day and keeping the temp. exact and still only got about a 75% hatch rate. Wonder if it's any better with a mother hen incubating the eggs ?
