The eggs I incubated hatched yesterday. I was in a rush when I pulled the shells out and didn't pay attention to who hatched. 6 chicks total. At least 1 is for sure a marans. Rooster is black copper marans(fl). Hens are French wheaton marans (fl), cuckoo marans(fl), olive eggers , and white crested cream legbar.

Assuming there's been no other roosters around for a while, all the chicks with a white spot on the head should be from barred hens. So that means cuckoo marans, the cuckoo olive egger, and likely the white crested legbar

Since your rooster isn't barred, all the barred chicks will be cockerels (barred mother hen can only pass barring to sons.)

The white legbar might be secretly barred, but the white covers up the pattern. Since it's recessive white (requires 1 copy from each parent, totaling 2 copies to appear white) some of the chicks could be from her.

So does that mean the ones with a white dot on their head will be male?

Yes. It appears you have 3 from what I could tell.

A barred rooster can pass barring to any offspring (presents as a white/yellow head spot in newly hatched chicks)
A barred hen can only pass it to sons, not daughters.
If you've heard of "black sex links", that's what that is. The mother was barred, the father wasn't. Upon hatch, only the cockerels will have the white head spot.

Any of your chicks that don't have a barred mom, they could be male or female.

If you had a barred rooster in with your hens within weeks of collecting those eggs you hatched, then everything I said goes out the window because he could have passed barring onto both daughters and sons.

Thank you, no the bcm was the only rooster.
