Good news though, one of the SLWs hatched and there's another not too far behind.

My Eng Orp is still hanging out....doesn't seem to be absorbing the veins in the membrane. I'm not sure she'll make it, and that makes me sad.

Come ON English OrpChick...!!!GET Moving!! ARe you gonna help at all or did you? HAS she done more since this morning.?

So exciting!

I popped open two of my failed eggs. Perfectly formed and shaped and positioned chicks, but something killed them all probably around day 17-18. Still quite a yolk sac. No odor, so I'm not thinking bacterial. Maybe a heat spike? Maybe too much humidity, but the membranes seemed a bit tough. I dunno. A friend gave me 23 eggs today. I hatched some from her once. I picked 6 to set and see if I can rule it a shipping death. But two sources of eggs make that likely.

She's out, but she's very very weak. I helped zip a little more egg and then she struggled to pop out.

She's breathing, but not much else. I guess we will see where she's at in the morning. I sure hope that she pulls through.

That's how my little guy was too. A few hours of R&R and he was up and about.
