But bad news, my 3rd SLW was pipping and then the other two babies were stepping all over it and now the pip is bloody and the baby isn't progressing So sad.


But, I have big news to make up for my sad hatch....


I JUST FOUND OUT I'M PREGNANT!!!!

[I haven't told the husband yet, because we've suffered 9 losses in the past 3 years, but gosh darnit, I'm so excited I could burst!]

Congrats!!! I pray it all goes well for you! !

So far three pips one has started to zip. I am going to bed hopefully they will be hatched by morning

Sometime after I went to bed last night (midnight) and when I go up this morning (830). Then more around 1pm. Nothing since.

I may be over reacting. First time with silkies and not sure if they are slower.

The first hasn't maded any noise.
The second one is.

Going to go have a beer, see if they are just being shy with me here. Haha

A beer sounds like agood plan!!

yeah real.. one was cracked started to chirp. I suspect with our warm weather it started to develop early. I hear it chirping as we speak. hope to have some chicks today and tonight

I now have 6 chicks and 3 peeping

Babies were banging around so much I cant watch afraid they will kill others.Gotta get um out. rolling eggs all over.
Might even have all of the eggs hatch but maybe one or 2
Looks like i have stars in most of the 11 .
just went and did it
Took them out.One egg was turned over with the pip side down alive earlier but they turned him over he might have sufficated as it was right by a damp rag i had in there. Dont see himmove now...DARN!!!. all the eggs are quiet now.
Hopefully taking a rest
Babies are all sleeping peacefully in the other incubator used as a brooder today

Better stop looking getting more nervous.Just go to bed and not worry (RIGHT)

I'm back. And I can still walk a straight line.

I was right, they were being shy.

First pip has a pea size hole open now.
Second pip is pushing at the shell, can see it moving.

Both are chirping.

First one is out and very talkative!

My first silkie! She is very dark with white tips.
