Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

this is the firs ttime I had no post to catch up on reading. I guess everyone is busy taking care of fluffy buts...lol I just got a pip in my last 3 eggs... hope at least one hatches to keep my lonely chick from last week company.
OH how is it doing alone? Yes now it will have little guys to pick on HAHa...mine are SUCH bullies!!!

Ok guys it seems like everyone does alot of hatching in here, so how do you guys introduce your chicks to your other chickens once they are old enough? I have always had bad luck with that unless they were hatched by a broody in the same pin.

Good question...i did put some 2 week olds in with 3 week olds and then added more pine shaving right away ... they all were so freaked from that (dont know why) they all seemd to not be too bad. 2 are roos for sure and forward...and one is 3 days older than the others but they really didnt pick on them much at all. Stayed in their own groups eyeing each other but a couple days seemed ok havent put the smallest in yet week olds...Afraid they will get picked on... too little..

PR we are some of us over on "Here we go agian !setting week of Aug 29-Sept 8th" ARe you setting again or done?come on over!,

I wanted to set some more, but we are going to the Talladega race, first part of October. I don't want to leave the incubator unattended for that long.

I was so hoping to try and get a Brahma roo before winter.

Oh well.

Have fun at the race!! I went to Talladega in 2007 it was great. And the incubator will be there when you get back.

Only two of my 10 White Ameraucana eggs hatched, and one died today :( We are naming the only white chickie Uno.

17 out of 20 Blue Splash/Wheaten Ameraucanas hatched, and one is not doing well. I don't think he will make it :( . The rest are thriving and their feathers are starting to come in, so cute!
