Candling is going well.  Looks like the original 12 are all viable (one very wiggly inside) and there may be one of my neighbor's pocket chicken eggs viable. Not too sure about the little ones.  Lockdown next Tuesday!!!

I was just looking for a slide projector for candling *Great suggestion*!
And I found some on eBay in Minneapolis, MN - for pick up only. No shipping.
3 of them for $10.
If someone lives around there, they might want to grab them.

So good news this morning 24 of my silkie eggs have veining and 8 are infertile as of now and what i can tell. I moved the ones i thought are infertile to another side of the bator in case they are slow starters but i am happy that at least 24 are cooking good whoo hoo and right on schedule so the new bator is doing good so far.

YYEEAAAA!!....Im waitin til Sunday to candle mine....its day 7 for me then!

Got 10 eggs in the bator.
Today is day 4 and I see veining in the 5 lightest colored eggs.
Don't know what's up with the others but I think I need to treat myself to a new candler too.
Isn't it lovely to be able to see thru the darker eggs finally?!
I imagine it's like putting on a fresh pair of x-ray vision glasses or something!

Oh YEA!!

I need to get a better one too....but this lil Camo is pretty good...just want one I can lay the egg on instead of holdin it in my hands!

$10 bucks is cheap!....but I bet the shippin would cost more then the projector...lol

I have always wanted to try some phoenix, but I have never found any close and I'm to scared to do the mail order thing. You will have to let me know how they turn out for you, they are such beautiful birds.

I got lucky....she lives here in Texas...bout 6 hours away!
But this is my 1st Mail Order

hope they come here intact & not damaged.

Seen where sum sellers r packin wrecklessly....&/or the postal workers mishandling them, damaging the box too.

I can only pray & hope everything will turn out!!

I candled again last night and I have one early quitter

Does any one know what causes that? The other 11 look great, and the quitter looked good 2 days ago.

It's day 7 for me today and I've just candled the eggs. Looks like 17 are definitely growing, yippee!

I was clear which I've dicarded.

I'll candle once more on day 18, Tuesday 28th Aug.
