Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

So last night was Day 7 and I had a look at what's cooking. Out of 15 shipped eggs I ended up tossing 4 that all had a blood ring and nothing else. Air cells look good in the rest of them.I am doing a dry hatch this time around. Temp has been consistent at 99.5. Humidity in the low 30's. I have one egg that really confused me. It has a blood ring but there is also veining and a LOT of movement from the embryo. This egg had the biggest embryo out of them all. Left it in there to see what happens. What do you all think?

Ok, well, I couldn't see into the Marans eggs, but I noted air pockets forming and figured... So, they're good (I hope?). I have English Orps in and am stressing over them, they didn't smell, I couldn't see veining, I saw some cloudy areas that didn't look quite right. Arrrrgh! These eggs did NOT get shipped.

Ok, now I remember why I don't candle very often,,, STRESSING here!

On a side note....seven (7) wild turkeys strolling through my yard this morning, how cool!

Oh my goodness this thread moves fast! What a great group of folks here.
Nuthatch, what exactly is a 'pocket chicken'?
Ok, you all convinced me... Time to candle. Still pretty dark out here so I'm going to candle right in the kitchen where the eggs are incubating.
I meant to quote my original post, sorry. My neighbor has a pair of what she calls "pocket chickens". They are either Seramas, Sebrights, or some combination of both. Like a tiny chihuahua, you could carry them in your pocket!

I am also doing a dry hatch as I got it really wrong with my first attempt and nothing hatched. All looking good so far (day 8). Good Luck!

After my last hatch got to hot and failed, im so worried about this bunch, today my air conditioner froze up and the house started getting warm and I had to leave to pick my step sons up from football practice so I didnt want to risk them getting over heated so I put all the eggs in a ziplock baggie and stuck them in my sports bra!

. they stayed nice and warm until I could get home and adjust the temp in the incubator. I candled just to make sure all was well and they were all fine.

. but boy did my post office lady give me a weird look when I walked in holding my lumpy looking boobs.

, I eventually told her what had happened and she laughed.

I would always leave any eggs in that were not clear. But then again I have not seen this dreaded 'blood ring' in any of my eggs ever, so I don't know what that really looks like. So in my case, if in doubt leave it alone.

I'm doing a dry hatch as well... lessons learned. Trying it from the beginning this time (not as a last resort fix-it for too high H last time). I'm hoping to get it right this time -- 10 eggs in the bator. Day 6 for me and looking good... I guess.

So hard to tell what's really going on in there. I like it when we get a little further on and we can see more dramatic movement within the eggs.
Good luck everyone!

Maran eggs are super tough to candle. Just let them be.

Try not to worry and stress. To worry is pointless; it does not change what is. It just takes all the fun out of it.

What will be will be.... but if you keep messing with them and stressing out then a mess is what will be.

They'll be fine!
Good Luck!!

At least you've got the turkeys to admire...

I have seen a live egg with a blood ring, It drove me crazy and eventually died.

Don't know if it had anything to do with it or not, but it happened when my thermometer was messed up and my temp was to low. If you have a second thermometer you may want to double check your temp.
