Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

Thanks nuthatch!

I called UPS to file a claim, but it seems to be working and holding up alright. Brinsea said that once it heats up any hairline cracks should expand and become pretty obvious, they also said that I shouldn't worry too much about the electronic aspect of the machine...that they're made to take a beating. I hope she's right!

I just set up my eggs in it, though I had them working in the crap-o-bator for the past 2 days...

It's weird, the cheap-o incubator seems to have stabilized temperatures since I removed the bad eggs and the quitters...it's been 99 solid since then...hopefully it stays that way for the rest of the hatch!

Oh congrats!!! look at those little fluffy butts so cute!

Ugh. My replacement incubator got here this afternoon....and the box looks like someone ran it over and than wrapped it in masking tape. I've already filed a claim with UPS, and the incubator seems to be working fine, but it's a delicate piece of equipment and I'm not sure if it's going to work right, or if it's going to crap out on me after some time because the electronic part of it was damaged.

I'm so frustrated, it seems like I can't get anything delivered in one piece recently.

Good Lord ...where do you live? Are the bringing your packages over a mountain on a pack mule?

I agree about filing the claim. There is no reason for your mail to be delivered like that. I would start keeping a log of all packages and letters that show up damaged.

I found eggs delivered on Saturday are in better condition than the eggs that arrive on Thursday or Friday. Who ever works on Saturday is so much more careful with packages.

You would think so, right? Unfortunately I think a pack mule might do a much better job.

It's not my post lady who is the problem, she always puts packages through the dog door out back, even if they're not marked "live eggs", it's the mouth breathers who work at the processing plants...it seems like everything I get recently has just been neglected.

UPS is going to come out and inspect the package and the item, so I doubt we'll get anything out of it because the incubator seems to be working and holding heat fine, no cracks or anything...but geez, what the heck are we paying shipping for if the items can't make it in one piece?

I want to candle my new set of orphingtons tonight!!! I know it's only like day 3, but I'm already feeling desperate because I've got so much hope built up over these eggs!

Any idea what I'd see in a healthy, growing egg on Day3?

I can't really answer your question, but gosh it is hard not to candle till the 7th day. I have never seen a candled egg that is not clear (except in pictures) so I am so excited to (hopefully!) see something next Friday. I know that if I did it now I wouldn't have a clue what I should be seeing. This waiting is killing me. :) I watch your posts so carefully because you ask every question that I seem to come up with it seems :)
