. it was so pretty too. six left in lockdown.

Oh geez, I'm sorry. I have 2 out of the shell now and one is curled up not able to stand or hold up it's head. Not feeling good about this one.

Well, I go into lock down tomorrow. Have the generator tested and ready to go.

Unfortunately, Isaac's outer band will hit in the middle of the night. Scared we will lose power while we are asleep and I won't know it. Probably end up staying awake all night.

Worried for nothing. Surprise ...the weather reports were way off. It was cool, light breeze and no rain/storms.

So glad you didn't get hit with that storm!!! I can't imagine being worried about long term power outages! We don't even own a generator.

OMG!! I went to the dr today and my mother in law sat with my kids and she blew a fuse and instead of calling me she just turned the incubator back on and opened it!!

not just that, but one had started zipping and it shrink wrapped because she opened it! 2 hours later I get home and find the poor thing stuck and suffocating! I got it wet and slowly peeled it off it opened its mouth took a few faint peeps and went lifeless

. it was still alive so i put it back in the bator but I dont think its gonna make it.

. OMG stupid mother in laws sometimes!!!

Why did she open it ? Do you know?
Guess she didnt know about shrink wrap etc.
Maybe you need a "do not open!" sign on it next time to remind everyone.

yes, these eggs started in the old homemade one and are finishing in the nice new Hovabator genesis... I have 8 in there but I know that 1 had died right before lovkdown. Iam leaving it for now.

Yeah you never know .Last time i thought i only had one alive and 3 hatched so ..maybe a suprise
.This will be the first time i lockdown in the genesis wonder if it will make a diff.My humidity this time from not enough eggs has been really wonky My fault didint check often enough.Hope i get some chicks,. Worried...12 eggs.Lockdown tomorrow and here we go....
. Gonna candle see whats in there first tonite . Last time i randomly candled and saw 3 looked good.Didnt do all though.5 would be so perfect.(shipped so i dont expect the world)

So sorry, Dear. Losing the babies is the absolute worst.

Roxann: I've got mine in a Genesis as well, I did not think to calculate less eggs = wonky humidity. We are at 11 chicks now, and I think that's all there will be. I'm so disappointed, I had really high hopes for this hatch. 1 died zipped and quite a few of the hatched babies are Very Sticky. I waited until there were no visible pips or zips before opening bator to fish out the hatchies and put in brooder. I've tried scrubbing down the sticky chicks with Dawn Detergent and popped them back in bator, I hope it makes a difference. I only scrubbed down the ones with goop sealing their eye or with egg shell hardened on.

The yellow ones show up so much better against the dark purple... I'll have to find a lighter backdrop for an Orpington, Black Copper Marans shoot.

hi every1....sorry havent been online lately!!
With 167 post...I got alot of readin!!....lol

so who is in lock down??....pippin??...hatchin??...I go to Lock Down on the 31st (friday)....have 17 of my girls....& 9 landlords!

My Phoenix eggs didnt do too good....only had 2 with veins on 7th day...but dont think they will make it!!

Hope every1 else is doin ALOT better than me with shipped eggs!!!!!
