Who's setting with me Sept 1st-4th?

Same, my spring hatch I had nearly an incubator full of fully formed chicks dead in there shells. I was keeping it at 50% the first few days and 70% the last 3 so I assumed they must have drowned. I was pretty bummed. I did get 7 to hatch, but I was incubating about 30 eggs. Now I'm back to getting my 95% - 100% hatches with the dry incuabtion!

grr...

I'm down to 4 embryos. Two died throughout today. In the morning, they were fine, but just candled tonight and they are definately dead. I checked the tempature, maximum, 101, minimum, 100. No bacterial blood rings or anything, why did these embreyos just die? They died on day 7, could this be an effect of shipping? Any other ideas? I really can't get over why they passed away! I need these eggs to hatch for my own sanity...

I am so sorry you lost 2, cochins....

I think maybe it was an after-effect from shipping? I say this because anytime I have ordered shipped eggs, as long as they're fertile, they always begin developing even with scrambled air sacs. The ones that make it past day 10 I usually can breath a little easier. Most times I will lose some by day 7 or 8. I sure hope the remaining 4 make it.

How's it going y'all?
My little buff Silkie (Garry Farm) is thriving very nicely.

I will take pics later and post them here.
My assorted bantams (frizzle, sizzle, and possibly oegb) along with my assorted barnyard layers will go into lockdown tomorrow evening. They are looking real good. I have been keeping on top of the humidity issue. Air cells looking very nice, not too big, not too small. Hopefully I got it right this time.

I have 18 of the Silkie eggs I ordered from Mary Robbins looking really really good. For the most part their air cells look really good. Only 4 or 5 showing distorted air cells (air cells were detached during shipping and re-attached, but offset). I took a soft lead pencil and when I candled them yesterday I outlined air cells on all 18 eggs....just so I know which ones may have trouble pipping. That way if I need to intervene, I will know exactly where the air cells are. These go into lockdown on the 12th.
You'd think I would be packing up my bators til spring, huh? But oh no...not me. I have 7-9 more Silkie eggs coming tomorrow (lots of color possibilities like calico, cuckoo, lavendar, partridge and splash. She also added 3 mille fleur D'uccle eggs!

I am SO excited!!

My remaining 4 will go into lockdown on Thursday and they are still thriving. I sure hope they hatch. And I'm the same way, I just joined Incubators anonymous hahaha. I'm going to make place another order from the same seller taking one last chance, I also plan to buy a few eggs from the neighbors and I won a dozen of mixed bantam eggs here on BYC from a contest so I will have my incubator running for at least another month.

Mille leur D'Uccle's are very neat looking, how exciting! How are your turkey eggs?

Well, I took six pics in all, and they were better than this one, but having trouble posting pics!! He/she is 15 days old today. I think it's a he....just so different than my last one who turned out to be a hen....

Cute! I just love the head fluff of silkies as chicks. Going into lockdown right now with my 4 remaining eggs, hoping for the best! Did you guys know that tomorrow is world egg day. I say thats a cause for celebration, hahaha. Also I thought that I'd share this picture that I found on google images.
