The original is quite good. There have been like 12 incarnations... The first one was in 1915, was a silent movie. Then another in the 20's... I think there was one in the 40s..... But then the 50s...Well anyway, there are German versions, French versions... BUT, that first one was really good considering it was the era of silent black and white films.

There have been several retellings of Titanic...the most famous being "A Night to Remember" - but that one isn't called "Titanic" so I assume that the OP is referring to the 1997 James Cameron film and that's funny.

My favorite old movies are "Casablanca" and "Some Like it Hot." Don't know for sure if I could pick a favorite Golden Age actor but I guess Bogart kind of encompasses the feel of the era.
