Ok so I thought my chickens weren’t laying at 23 weeks old. I checked the coop well and someone is laying in a corner on the floor and not in the nesting boxes. I even have fake eggs in there now. Not sure who laid these but would u say they could be from an Austra White ?

Block off the corner where she/they were laying with a bucket or something,
make sure the nests are easy to get in and out of.

Perfect time to start butt checks.

Take a look at all your hens. Do any of them have larger/red combs or wattles? Those are your layers.

Only the Austra white & one cuckoo blue bar. The others are really small.

I vote on the Orpington's.
The only thing that makes me think it’s not is that they don’t have fully developed combs or wattles. The egg color confuses me though for the Austra White. Also I think it’s weird that three look a tad bit smaller and darker. Then the next three are a tad bit larger and lighter. I don’t know if it is due to this being the first eggs she has ever laid so they are weird or ??
