Whose Hatching Around the 31rst? !!!Come On Join In On This Post!!!

Just got home from a trip down to Lutz, Fla bought some awesome chicks more about that later Had four hatched in the incubator and 6 pips tomorrow is day 21... So far have 1 gold laced polish 1 white crested black plish 1 balck orp and 1 australope 4 more of the polish have pips so far so good.

So one that was due on Saturday has been tap tap tapping since yesterday evening, sounding harder and harder...I'm hoping for a pip when I get back from my bus route this morning.
The other Saturday egg isnt' doing much and the 2 remaining ones due today aren't up to anything either. but good movement last night! I'm still holding out a bit of hope but I am prepared for the worst...

I HAVE A PIP!!

My bator has been getting a little hot on one end since I raised the humidity, I'm a little concerned...

Tickety, it's so disappointing when they develop fully and peep but then don't hatch. I had that happen to me last round.

Ohhh I am trying so hard to be patient. The tapping one hasn't made any progress but is still tapping away, it's louder now.
I checked the other one and it died

no movement and all veining has disappeared. I think I might have drowned it as it did get through the air cell but nothing else.

The remaining two due today look pretty good! One is tapping but I can't hear it yet and the other is really active.

Would it be bad to give the one that's actively trying to pip a little help by cracking the egg a bit? Moisture is around 80% now...

Still 5 out of 7 bantam cochin eggs hatched, and 3 out of 5 mutt eggs have hatched. I'm hoping for a better hatch percentage than this out of my own eggs.

Good luck everyone else! I'm a little jealous of all the people with incubators, who can hear peeps and see pips. I just have to wait blind with my eggs under broodies....

I can't hear any peeps through my cooler bator, even when I press my ear against it! Last hatch I didn't know better and I took them out and held them up to my ear and I could hear peeping and tapping, but then some didn't hatch even after peeping...probably because I took them out to listen. So this time I am sitting on my hands and anxiously waiting. I have two pips so far and nothing else has happened. There are 14 eggs, all from my hens.

Aren't they pretty! I think she's my prettiest chicken. I need an updated picture, because her crest is even better now...

Good luck sitting on your hands. It is HARD!!!

I have 7 Serama eggs in the hatcher.. not touching them!! I did not candle when I put them in.. I'm just hoping for at least one.. These are shipped eggs, from 2 different sources.

They are Due tomorrow..

I have 13 ameraucanas this morning. When I removed them to put them in to the brooder, I quickly candled the twins and I think they died. No movement, just dark still mass. No veining and no pip into the aircell. I also have one chick struggling to survive. She was the first one born and has never been able to stand up. She keeps falling on her back and then just lays there with her feet in the air. I got her to drink some water and put her back in the bator by herself to rest.
GOOD Luck everyone!!
