Whose skull is this?

So she killed another dog?!?!

Hopefully she just found a dead dog and ate it. Oh dear. I will go deworm her and check around the property if I see other remains.

I figured it was a coyote or fox.

Thanks everyone!
I doubt she killed the dog and ate it, most likely she found the skull out in a field and just brought it home.

I’m pretty sure my dog killed it and ate it because I don’t know why else a skull of a carnivore would be present in my backyard close to my chicken pen.

it’s wrapped in a net. My dog tends to hide her bones in hay and any net I have laying on the floor (I know I really should pick up a bit).

Any ideas what animal skull this belongs to?

I don’t see any fur or other bones in my yard, but she could have left it out in a field and only brought back that head.

I just remembered that she did lose her collar a while ago, but I figured it got stuck on a fence since she likes crawling under them. Guess I’ll drive around to see if I see anything.
Your dog must have found the skull in the woods. It’s been dead a long time. It’s totally devoid of skin and hair. My dogs often find deer bones and happily bring them home.

The molars and premolars look far too rounded to be dog, unless they are worn down. Could have been an old dog

They are rounded, yes. That's because of age or wear, or even wear after death. Likely and old dog. They are canine molars though. A quick google search can show you ideas of the differences in their teeth anatomy.

The most sure tell, unmistakable sign it's a canine, is the angle of the "scissor" molar. This shape and angle is for scissoring meat as opposed to grinding. Pigs will have flat square teeth. Not only are they flat and square, they run almost in vertical parallel lines along the jaw bone, not curving like canines.

I think that looks more like a pig's skull, by the way the teeth are set into it. And those longer teeth look more like tusks than canines.
For what it's worth, I would have to put money on the pig for the same reason you suggested.

Hopefully this clears up any confusion. The first 3 are pigs, the last 3 are canines.

Maybe she just found the skull and dragged it home. Looks like a dog skull to me because the canine tooth is rounded. I think they are sharp in foxes and other predators.
