Why’s the poop look like this?

I came home, and found my BCM looking like she didn’t feel well. I immediately brought her inside, thinking this Texas weather had gotten the best of her, and let her walk around. I found poop in the picture after coming back from store, she hadn’t done this the one time she went before we left. What’s wrong?

Can you get some Corid from your feed store and start treatment for possible coccidiosis? Dosage is 10 ml (2tsp) of the liquid Corid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5-7 days. How old is the chicken? I would also consider worming her and the whole flock, since worms can cause blood in the poop as well. Valbazen or SafeGuard liquid goat wormer are both good ones. We can give dosages.

She’s 2-3 years old.

I would keep her inside - somewhere warm. Keeping them warm might make the difference between recovering and not recovering...

Keep her warm at night. Not too warm - especially if it's hot during the day - then try to keep her relatively cool...70 degrees F is a good temperature...
